"I would like to have known that the room was on the ground floor directly off the entrance hall and next to the breakfast room and was therefore noisy. There were no communal areas. Breakfast coffee was served in a Cafeteria. The plunger did not work properly when my husband depressed the plunger boiling hot coffee spurted out all over him, and the table together with coffee grounds. The staff were slow to respond to this and did not offer any assistance to my husband who had badly scolded his arm and had coffee grounds all over his clothes. He put his arm under water and asked for burn cream and was offered hand cream. When pressed they admitted that they did not have a first aid kit which I would have thought did not meet health and safety regulations. On settling the bill my husband brought the incident to the attention of the staff member dealing with him and was told that it was his fault,the cafeteria was not overfilled and they had never had problems before. This was not satisfactory."
